About meI am a 2023 postdoctoral fellow representing Florida Sea Grant in the Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program. I am spending my fellowship year working in NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program where I will be focused on managing the U.S. Coral Reef Task Force. Previously, I was a NSF GRFP fellow in the Coral Reef Health and Molecular Ecology Lab at Florida Atlantic University-Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute where I received by PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Joshua Voss.
I am originally from outside of Washington, DC but became a Floridian when I moved to Miami for college and stayed in the sunshine state for graduate school. Now I am excited that my new position let's me have the best of both worlds! While I am based in Vero Beach, FL, I frequently travel to the DC area for work. Broadly, my research interests include coral reef ecology, population genetics and genomics, mesophotic reefs, and the application of science to effective coral reef management and policy, especially marine protected area designation and effective restoration. Outside of science I love cooking (read: eating), dancing, reading trashy novels, and playing with dogs. I will be looking for new opportunities in the fields of coral reef ecology, management, and policy. I am interested primarily in government positions and post-docs. If you'd like to learn more information about my background, please check out the most current version of my C.V. and contact me if you have any further questions! |
